What We Fund
Providing hands-on experience, exploration and formal skill-building in career pathways that prepare youth to successfully transition to adulthood.
Providing hands-on experience, exploration and formal skill-building in career pathways that prepare youth to successfully transition to adulthood.
This work shouldn’t start in the last two years of high school. Access to these opportunities at an earlier age allows for deeper exploration of interests, careers and skill-building; resulting in greater confidence and preparation for important post-high school decisions that impact a student’s future and, in turn, our community’s future.
Engaging Youth in Career Exploration
Designed to respond to an identified mismatch between training opportunities available to our young people and growing local workforce needs, Hendricks CareerTek engages middle and high school-aged youth in the Greater Beloit area in career exploration and hands-on learning opportunities that provide them with valuable skills, insights and experiences. The goal; inform career thinking in preparation for a successful pathway into adulthood and future employment.
This hands-on approach to learning is why a stop in at CareerTek after school might provide a glimpse of:

Established as a program of the Stateline Boys & Girls Club in 2017, CareerTek was launched through a $500,000 grant from the Hendricks Family Foundation. The original focus on expanding opportunities to support local youth in exploring career options and building skills that prepare them for good paying, skilled jobs and life beyond high school remains at the heart of the program’s current-day activities.
The Foundation’s ongoing investment in CareerTek is a reflection of our significant commitment to Career Pathway & Workforce Development and strategies that help youth to experience and understand their own potential and see the opportunities available to them.
